Savannah-Chatham police are investigating an early morning shooting that killed a Savannah man near Wheaton Street and Liberty Street.
Police responded to the parking lot of a 3G gas station at 703 Wheaton Street just after 4 a.m. Friday to find Mario Williams, 29, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound, said APO Jason Pagliaro.
A suspect fled in a gray SUV, Pagliaro said. The vehicle was later recovered at Wilder Drive and Randolph Street. The investigation is ongoing.
