Police say they are investigating two separate shootings Wednesday in Savannah.
At 2:37 a.m., officers responded to a convenience store on the 4400 block of Montgomery Street, where a 32-year-old man sought help after being shot, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman.
The shooting occurred on the 200 block of West 61st Street.
The victim was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in stable condition, Baker said.
Investigators seek to identify suspects in this case.
Then, just before noon, a 26-year-old man arrived at Memorial suffering from a gunshot wound, Baker said. He was listed in critical condition Tuesday night.
Byrd was shot minutes earlier at an apartment complex on the 8500 block of Waters Avenue and arrived at the hospital in someone’s car rather than an ambulance.
Investigators believe the shooting to be targeted.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s, standing 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall.
